im looking to buy a yamaha one, but i don't know the differences between a $150 one and $250 one and a $350 one
it looks like more expensive looks fancier, but is it really different if i'm a beginner?

One of the biggest differences you will find in keyboards is the key action. You really have to try each one out and decide for yourself which one has the best attack and release. Does it play softer when you are hitting the keys lighter, and does it get louder when you are banging? This is what separates the better keyboards from the beginner ones. (It is unlikely that you will find one that does this for the price range you are talking about, but something to think about as you get better.)
Of course each one will have a variety of voices and rhythms to choose from. Make sure you are satisfied with the selection. Also, the ability to record or hook it into a computer is something to consider.
