You have to download a patch off Live Marketplace when you Xbox is hooked up, and there is a list of compatible games on Microsofts website. I do know Halo 1 and 2 and GTA San Andreas play. The other good way to do it is contact Australian OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) and ask the for the back issue of the mag with the demo disc that has the reverse compatability crack on it. It automatically updates your 360 when you load the disc. And all it will cost you is the magazine price and postage. (all up about $20)
Hope this helps.

You can, but they are natively compatible. If you go to Microsoft's site, you will find how to download software emulator to get your Xbox games working. It's because the architecture of the Xbox 360 is massively different than the original Xbox. It was a mistake on Microsoft's part. They should have kept this in mind when designing the 360.
Here is the list:

Yes, you can play SOME, but not All XBX games on the 360, but you still need the following:
1. A hard drive to download the latest patch.
2. An ethernet connection to X-Box Live so you can download the latest patch.
Go to www.xbox.com and do a search for backward compatibility. You should be able to go from there. It's about 2 clicks/screens away from the list.

I'm told you have to go to the xbox site online and they have a list of compatible games. Not all can be played on the new system.

Yes you can. You either have to download the emulator through xbox live or burn it to a cd from the xbox website. If you do it through xbox live its automatic.
