I especially like the games that require more creativity than strategy. Example: I LOVE Balderdash, Taboo, Scattegories, Pictionary, Cranium--games like that. Not so much cards, Monopoly etc.

However, we need a new game that is fun (can get funny). We've played the above so many times and so many years that I can barely get my family to play them anymore. (Even though, I could still play Balderdash till 3 in the morning. BEST GAME EVER!) So, with Christmas coming ...I need a new game to take to our family gathering.

I would recommend Apples to Apples. It is technically a card game, but it's not like bridge or poker. One has adjective cards and noun cards. One players plays and adjective card like "hot". The other players turn in noun cards from their hand they think will fit; summer, tom cruise, salsa, ice cream (bad hand). The first player then picks which card best fits and the player who turned it in gets the points. Since one doesn't always have a good hand, the answers can often be hilarious. Much of the fun is listening to the explanations for what is picked and why.

If you liked Cranium, you might like Would You Rather...?. I prefer the original Zobmondo because it got a bit more outrageous, but that's just me. Also, Cranium suggests the card game Elixir as their is some fun acting out in that.

And finally, if you liked scattergories, you might like boggle.

Hope this helps. Have fun.

The name sounds funny, but you have to get "QUELF" if you are looking for a totally fun game. No strategy - all laughs. It is best played with adults because you have to be quick on your feet and observant and it will take many wierd turns but I have never laughed harder while playing a "board" game. Shy people will not like this game. Read about it online. It is even more fun than it sounds. We found it randomly at a board game store in the mall.

Blokus, has to be one of the most entertaining and strategic game, even my 7 year old loves. Now there is a triblokus that we have bought and it's just as much fun. Buzz Word is a good one too for the laughs. Greed dice can be dangerous and addicative. Texas holdem is the prefered of the adults in my house.

One of my favorite games for a large group is Pit. It not really a creative game or a strategy game but it can get intense, loud and is a lot of fun!

specific it is so cool, i won't be ready to think of of something extra suitable on a chilly winters day than to play a interest of monotony in front of the hearth. Now strip Monopoly with clothing somewhat of money, this is extra like it
