I have gone through many pairs of pants! The only thing that goes wrong with them is the holes that are created by the friction from my thighs rubbing together. I have tried polyester, cotton, cotton-polyester blend, and denim. They all fail. I have considered making my own pants with a better fabric or somehow reinforcing the problem area. I am trying to lose weight. I am currently at a BMI of 30, trying to get a healthy BMI of under 25. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Oh girl, I hear you. Been there. I'm a bit of a big girl too. I have found that if I squeeze a tennis ball between my knees for 3 - 5 minutes in the morning and do the same before bed at night, the muscles on the inside firm up and don't jiggle and rub as much. My slacks really appreciate it as do I. Sometimes I do it while I'm at the computer, too. It helps a lot. I was doing a lot of sewing until I started to do this. Hope it helps, good luck.

I agree with the other answer about trying a size bigger. However, if you do choose to make your own clothing, this website gives a GREAT recommendation for thigh problems. Check it out

Honestly, If I were you I would buy cheap pants and just replace them often when they start pilling or thinning. Better to always look crisp and new even though cheap than buying expensive and looking cheap. It's not a problem for just overweight people, there are a lot of average sized people with large thighs who also have this problem.

Denim usually wears well. You may try purchasing a size larger so they're not tight. That may help. When you lose the weight I believe your problems will be gone.
