I think one requirement to classify an organism a fish, is that it's suppose to have gills.

And yes they do :)

the only hybid cichlid species im aware of in the pet trade thats the most popular it the parrot fish, some times they are called jelly bean parrots, nevertheless they are a cross suposedly between a green severum and a midas cichlid or red devil cichlid. As per the gill question? ? just because they are a hybrid would not entail no gill, although they do have certain defects as example most parrot fish have deformed mouths that stay open.

Cichlids aren't hybrid fish. Cichlids are a family of fish consisting of several hundred species.

However there are hybrid fish that are cichlids (blood parrot, flowerhorn, etc.)

In any case all fish have gills.

All fish have gills. And your question doesn't make sense. What do you mean by cichlids are hybrid fish?

these fish do have gills as do all the fish. Just because it is a hybrid, doesn't mean that it won't have them. They will just have beautiful color arrangements and different means of life then either of the 2 fish that were bred to make that fish.
