It is easy to feel embarrassed when commercials, movies, books and a large segment of our society portrays success and acceptance in being self serving, tough, wealthy, hedonistic and worship of self. All human beings seek acceptance and affirmation from our fellow man so we don't want to appear as weak, unpopular and silly. In reality we serve one who is intelligence, he doesn't acquire it. He is knowledge, strength and the creator of all. Man likes to feel he is self sufficient and some tend to scorn and mock. But considering the insanity, chaos, and depraved behavior of much of what is going on, who really should be embarrassed?

Yeah, I've noticed that people are hesitant to engage in dialogue about their religion. I love to listen to the beliefs of others. A lot of what we believe results from our background and our faith, so no two Catholics will agree 100%, but the dialogue can be interesting.

I think many of us have been on the receiving end of attacks during these conversations. There are many people out there that take it very personally if you disagree with them. I was accused of devil worship, because I didn't agree with someone. It's exhausting when a potentially great conversation turns sour, and it makes you want to keep quiet.

I find it is because of the increasing mockery from the media. Don't you notice that no one ever makes jokes about budda/muhammad etc.?

Be strong in your faith. Sinners will always try to belittle and coerce the faithful. In this, we gain our strength.
