Life seems to have little meaning when you examine it. Say there was no G-D, then our existence would be meaningless since we all want to exist forever. And for those who disagree, did you ever hear about a friend giving a GIFT of a million dollars and then ask it back just to find out that the person doesnt care and just says "hey at least i had a milloin dollars for a day". It doesnt work like that, humans dont think like this. And if there IS a G-D, then whats to come ahead? We all had different lives, some good, some bad. How do the people who had bad lives get a compensation for the crappy life they had on earth? And if we are to be distinct from one another in the world to come, then that would mean that there would still be inequality. In order to achieve inequality, we would all have to be uniform, which is also seems meaningless. I dont necessarily believe that there is or isnt a G-D or that life has no point, but it all seems like a contradiction to me. What do you think?

Are you sad? Because I see some people on here telling you to cheer up and to look on the bright side. It doesn't sound to me like you're upset about this, its only a question. And a pretty valid question at that. Many people feel confident in thinking that life is to be lived to the fullest and others think that we should obey the "almighty rules" of whats "expected" of us. Live how you want. Everything else is only what our minds were preconditioned to think and be. I completely understand you. Is this really meaningless? I ask this question to myself EVERY day. Seriously. And no I'm not upset with my life, I'm not lonely. I have a wonderful family [which can get annoying at times] but thats everything else too. I live my daily life to try to achieve the most happiness I can while also trying to expand my mind as much as I can. Life cannot be just what's in our face. There has to be more purpose to why we've been on this earth for millions of years. Yes, we procreate, but what happens after? Only when we die we'll know if any "religion" was right, or if any "idea" was right as to what happens next. We'll figure it out.

There is a GOD. The point of life is to live it, the best you can. Love yourself. Love others. Love the planet. Enjoy the beauty of life. What more do you need? Whether you believe in God or not, you have to appreciate that life is a precious gift. Cherish it. Don't take it for granted. Yes, it can be crappy sometimes. Yes there is ugliness to deal with. Evil and drudgery and all manner of unpleasantness. But you can't let that bring you down. Get close to nature. It's an extraordinary planet. It's awe-inspiring.

Life is as meaningful or as meaningless as you choose to make it. It's in your hands. So make it good!

:)
Peace out!

I never wonder about the meaning of life. I just live and each day takes care of its self.
I do not believe in a God or a higher power and think when I die, then I am dead and all of me will cease to function on all levels.
I don't have a problem with that. I have no control over it or the meaning of life- if there is a meaning. I just enjoy today and try to be kind to others.
I hope you find the answers you need or the peace I have.

No point to it, but I need some points back so I am answering this, cheer up out there and I will try to also. I think your down and maybe it is this time of year when we have all these false expectations and for many of us life isn't just peachy keen or exactly how we want it and so we might be having some down time. Cheer up and know that I am out here to and life is about us, it is about us meaning some thing to someone besides ourselves that is it I think.

The meaning of life is to exist. We live because we are given this life, not because we choose it. What you do with this life is up to you to choose. We like to say that there is no God because we want to believe we control our lives completely. I think the bottom line of this life is to try to make it to the end with as few enemies as possible. If you look at most religions they have a moral code to them that works a lot like the golden rule of "do unto others as you'd have done to you". If we keep this rule we make no enemies of others. We may even die not being mad at ourselves for some thing we did to someone else or something we feel we could have done for others.

We are all uniform. We have all sinned and fell short of God. That is the great equalizer. However, we are not all equal in the afterlife. Consider a rich person, born with a silver spoon in their mouth and never had to work a day in their life. They do not have to steal in order to eat. They never have any problems and never need to turn to God. However, a poor person might call upon God always.

That person's 'crappy life' actually helped facilitate their connection with God whereas the rich person with the 'good life' never turned to God.

This world is a gift. This life is a gift. Enjoy what was provided for you. Take care of it. Take care of yourself. This is all we have. If you want to look further you need to look at the spiritual side and those answers are learned over a period time and through understanding acceptance.

Every one of us has a purpose on Earth... may it be that actress that was a sex symbol, that activist who raised awareness or that gay who fought rights for the future homosexuals.

The point of life is to live it to the fullest and make our world better. For who? The future generations. Why? Because that is why we are here...

One of the key answers to your query is that it's definitely our duty to our community and country since I firmly believe what Lord Horatio Nelson (1758-1793) ordered his ships to signal for their ultimate battle with the Spanish armada in the Battle of Trafalgar. The message read, "England expects every man to do his duty" and the navy under his command won the fight.

Life – it has a meaning and loving purpose - you just have to find your purpose and live it.

I believe every person is here for a definite purpose. Each person is special and valuable; that refers to me, you, your family, friends, in fact everybody! There is a loving plan for each of our lives here on earth and there is no such thing as coincidence. I don't believe that anything in life happens by chance and that every aspect of our lives points to something deeper.

You need to decide now to live for God rather than for yourself. You spend your life on Earth preparing yourself (as best you can) for death. I don't see death as a scary, negative experience, but birth into a bliss filled eternal life with God. I believe that this is something you have to consciously choose or not during your life on earth.

The meaning of life is for us to discover that we are true children of an infinitely loving and merciful God, to find out what our responsibilities are to our Creator, and to fulfill those responsibilities. Each of us is called to affirm, accept and develop the talents God has given us. -
