Grandmother passed away but the memories I have are of her always making fun of me when I had weight on me, or when I never had a job. I suffered from extreme depression growing up. she even told me once I was ugly, she use to look at me in and shake her head. Now that I'm older, I still remember those memories. I don't have any feelings for her now that she's dead. Am I wrong?

No hon it is not wrong at all...we all deal with things differently and you have some bad memories to deal with...you may never find any fond feelings for your grandmother just know that she no longer has any power over you and that you are a beautiful person inside and out no matter what anyone, including your grandmother, says or has said. Be confident and hold your head high...live your life for the now and let the past be the past.

You can't help what you feel, and it sounds like she was very hard on you. Many people do feel numb after a death, and if you never do feel sad, I think you at least showed some respect for her as your grandmother by going to her funeral. It's more than many people would have done. I hope that your feelings about your past heal. I truly wish you all the best.

Nah. Because someone dies, doesnt mean you develop some sort of feelings for them. You probably just feel like you are disrespecting the fact she is dead by not feeling sad. It's ok to feel what you do because you have reasons, whether she is here or not. It would only be wrong to not have feelings if you were the reason she died, her death has nothing to do with how you saw her as a person.

It's not my place to judge you but, the bible does speak of forgiveness.
Colossians 3:13
"Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."
Also, refer to Matthews 18:21-27,35 and Luke 23:34.
In some instances, people don't grieve until after the funeral. If her death was sudden and unexpected you could be experiencing shock, to some degree.

I don't think anyone can not have feelings at a funeral but just because you may not be sat there crying your eyes out does not make you heartless or insensitive.As sad as it may be loosing someone close you are also entitled to remember good times.Every one has their own way of grieving

I don't think it's wrong to have no feelings towards her. I don't cry at funerals but the once i went to I don;t really know them but they know me. It's my relatives. But even though u have no feelings about her death it's ok. I would feel the same way if my grandmother did that to me too. You must've had maybe just a tiny drop of feeling towards her death?

No its not wrong at all, you grew up feeling inferior because she hurt you so deeply, why be two faced and stand at her graveside crying false tears, just put her to rest in your heart, move on from it and don't spend your whole life been her victim, she can't hurt you anymore, your now a beautiful flower instead of a bud, have a lovely Christmas.

Well, I can understand why you weren't too sad at the funeral after the way she treated you. I personally don't think I would've been too sad either, but you just have to remember that she was part of your family and even though she didn't show it, I'm sure she loved you. She just had a funny way of showing it.
