On the other hand, men who are cool and confident are viewed as "boring" and "too nice".
Why is this? Do healthy, well-adjusted men need to start being obnoxious jerks so that women will like them?

NOT AT ALL. Messed up chicks like messed up guys. There are plenty of girls who like a laid back man. They're just not the crazy ones that stick out.

I think some women like to be with a man that other women would like to be with. often times people like to show off what better way than having a guy who seems the soul of the party and a little bit risky. (A bad boy). Yet many women soon grow out of this strange attraction its called maturity those women who just can not get enough of the so called Bad boy lack any real self worth. In time we all want to be with a peacfull loving person. I also find that you are who you are. well adjusted men can not turn into bad boys they could not pull it off like wise bad boys can not change into decent men what happens is that we all get older. and situations in our lifes change and we have to adjust. in most situations the woman/girl of a bad boy will try and change him when she matures. Providing she has self worth.

Women, or more specifically LADIES do NOT think that way. Young girls or childish women are often drawn to men like that but no real WOMEN I know of. Perhaps you need to up the caliber of "women" you are looking for and the location in which you are searching. The best thing to be is yourself. Don't be desperate. It's been my experience that love is elusive when sought after too hard. It has always come to me when I've stopped looking.

Loud obnoxious men stand in front of the woman and command they be noticed. Unfortunately, it takes women years to realize this. It's happened to me twice. I was in my own world. I was raised with quiet voices that spoke of giant problems of the world to be solved. I can't imagine yelling, or disturbances. I loved listening to the west wing and falling safely asleep. Yet, I also discovered generosity in men and women. Then I could discover my own generosity and be safe. Our poem blessing says: Your soul is safe with me. Just wait and let your enlightenment shine steadily. You will be noticed and appreciated without putting on these aires. bless ya.

YES! Being a jerk is great. Women want to change us, we are a project to them. Another thing is we never have to TRY in a relationship because we are jerks. Another good thing is women have low expectations of us. Try it, its a great life.

Because insecure women with low self esteem are attracted to insecure men with low self esteem - in other words, you probably wouldn't want to date the kind of girls who like "bad boys"!!!
