The wireless router you will have to pay for just once. Its like paying for a candy bar. You pay once just for the candy bar, and then never again unless you get another one.

What you will have to pay monthly is your internet service provider (Comcast, Verizon DSL, ETC). Without an internet service provider, you wouldn't be able to browse the internet with your wireless router.

Buy a wireless router from a CompUSA, Circuit City, Office Depot. Don't buy it or lease it from an ISP. It's not worth it.

Dude, where does everyone go shopping? Everyone is over quoting. 802.11g Netgear router costs around $40. A Netgear wireless card is around $40. If you can find sales, you can probably find both of them for $50.

If you buy one on your own there won't be monthly charges, if you get it through your internet provider there might be rental charges.

A wireless card averages about 30-40 bucks, wireless routers cost around 60-80.

A wireless router has no monthly charge. It's all a one time fee just for the hardware.
