Money is not a huge issue but a decent amount Im used to paying about 600 by my self so with two roomatesit shouldnt be so bad... we NEED to be within 10 miles of a beach... we have lead a rather sheltered life and the clubs and piers and beach scene catch our eyes. I just wanna know from someones point of view who is already there? can you help me... Pretty please 10 pt. to best (most helpful) answer!

San Louis Obispo might be a good bet. Right on the beach. Many of the LA advantages, without the LA big city disadvantages (in my opinion). It was a great place to visit. If I ever moved to CA I would give it a try.

Santa Barbara's cool, but it's a bit pricey.
I have a soft spot for Santa Monica, but it's kinda funky.
Maybe between LA and San Diego, though I don't really know that area so well
