problem during installation of solaris 9
during installation solaris 9 in my pc i getting the errror code such as "Gen- ATA" error wat is means.
my pc configuration will be.
P4 2.6GHz, RAM 512MB, ASUS motherboard,80GB SATA HDD, AND 80GB IDE HDD.
80GB SATA HDD having windows XP and 80GB IDE HDD having Redhat linux.

i tried to install in a IDE HDD and i got this error, so wat will be the solution for this and that error means.

can i try for solaris 10.

so my friends can resolve , there is any solution can i enjoy sun environment.

It just means there's been a timeout when the computer requested something from the hard drive. Solaris get this a lot. They tend to have compatibility problems with a lot of motherboards.

to assist fault discover plug it in the plug your cd rom is utilising. if the bios observed the cd rom yet doesnt see the hdd in the same connection, then the hdd is the two defective or set incorrect in its jumpers. if the hdd would be seen in the cd rom place, yet no longer in the previous cable connection, then their is a cable fault or incorrect grasp/slave set up with the cable pluggs intp the motherboard plug the grasp hdd and slave hdd onto one cable into the primaty mobo, the cd rom on the 2d cable into the secondary mobo
