Charging your i pod for the whole night made the battery to deteriorate. You need to get a new battery for it, and next time just charge it until it says "charged" otherwise you will have the same problem...ooooh! that reminds me, I need to check mine.
Happy Holidays!!!

CNET.com has a great "Weekend Project" segment on replacing the battery to a mini. If you got the iPod mini when it first came out or was relatively new, you probably got the "first generation" version, when they still sold the gold iPod mini and the battery life at purchasing time was a mere 10 hours. Not surprisingly, the battery also began to lose charge at a much faster rate. Here's the link to the CNET way of replacing your battery. There isn't much more option for what you can do, because whether Apple will cover a discontinued Mini is a touchy subject, not to mention any battery replacement for an iPod always has been. Good luck anyways, and happy holidays.

I've had that problem with my ipod nano. All I did was charged it until it says fully charged, and then i leave it in for a while longer. It usually works. Also, don't switch songs a whole lot because it wears down battery faster.

You will just have to buy a new battery. You charge it way too much. Some ipods have an automatic charge turn off so where you can't run down your battery. It doesn't sound like you have this type of ipod, so you will have to buy a new battery.

It's a hassle, but you can try resetting the unit to factory condition. That means everything will be wiped off your iPod. You will need to reload your songs from the iPod desk top.
If that doesn't do it, then there is something wrong with the unit. Contact Apple if it is still under warranty.

i for my area think of you ought to get the iTouch, there are maximum of useful properties to it like taking part in video games, surfing the internet, and lots greater. the size of that may not lots of a controversy, as long because it suits in my pocket, i do no longer ideas lots in any respect. nonetheless in case you perfer to easily carry on with an unique iPod and you ought to care much less approximately having maximum of concepts to do on it, get a clean iPod nano. you may take movies on it it relatively is diffrent than the iTouch, in spite of the shown fact that it quite is all as much as you. wish I helped!
