why did english-candadians and french-candians disagree on: canada's involvment in the south african war, and the naval crisis?

They disagreed principally because of their views on Canada's relationship to Britain. Mainstream English Canadian opinion strongly supported Canada's position within the British Empire and thus also supported Britain's Imperial position in the world. French Canadians felt much less attachment to Britain and saw little attraction in Canadian blood or money going to support British Imperialism.
