Last nite my window XP auto detect my modem. it was the very 1st time, strange to me y it suddenly auto detect my modem? has it something wrong with my modem? i have been using the same PC for 1 year and suddenly last nite it auto detect my modem?
after i DID what it suggest such as reinstall with the disc drive, i click the 'connection' icon and as usual to connect to internet... but funny is i dont get the usual sound like pulse sound and the dialling tone sound.. it is silent and there is a warning said that "THERE IS NO DIAL TONE"
i positively sure that the phone cable was in the socket, i also sure that the cable was OK because it was always the same cable i use UNTIL yesterday.
i click 'properties' on modem setting and it said that 'the device is working properly' . it also said so on the 'modem query' ..
could any one suggest to me WHAT is going on with my PC? no rain no thunder and no obstacle on the weather last nite, the modem card test is running well and hooked on COM4

i just cant get the usual dialing tone. is it wrong with modem card? Phone line? or else?

I have had that problem before and I have had to get a new modem to fix the problem. I think it must be a internal problem with the connector. But for around twenty dollars it not worth the time to diagnose further

My ring tone is the ringing sound that the quite previous telephones make. it quite is the only one that gets my interest through fact it quite is amazingly loud for some reason. My pals hate it, which makes each and every thing style of humorous whilst somebody calls me and without notice all of my pals bounce.
