How to Make Paper Snowflakes
A few quick snips with the tip of your scissors is all it takes to create a beautiful, six-pointed snowflake. Start with a square piece of paper—if you don't know how to make one, ask a grownup to help you.

Fold the paper in half diagonally to make a triangle.

Now, fold the triangle in half so the pointy corners meet.

Fold your triangle in thirds. You may need to adjust these folds a little to get the sides to match up, so don't crease the paper until the folds are just right.

Cut across the bottom of your paper so it is straight.

Cutting Snowflakes: Cut your folded paper so that it looks like the triangle above. Then unfold it gently. Don't worry if your snowflake isn't exact: No two snowflakes are ever alike.

Take a square piece of paper and fold it in half so it makes a triangle. (If it's not square, fold it so you get a triangle with a little rectangle hanging off one side, and cut the rectangle off.) Fold it in half again, and one more time. The third time you fold it, the top edges won't match up, and you will have a little triangle of extra paper sticking up. Cut that triangle off along the edge of the other side. Now make little cuts into the paper, triangles and whatnot. When you're done, unfold your paper snowflake!
