I've been getting into it as a challenge for myself, and I was just wondering this ever since I first saw the rules. Are all puzzles like that, does it depend on the initial combination, or do all of them have more than one possible answer? Thanks in advance for the help and answers.

There is only one solution to the puzzle. The initial numbers that are given force only a single solution.

My co-worker plays sudoku every day and i give you kudos for picking up such a good game. This game truly is an excersize for the brain, and the brain is a muscle that people do not work out enough.
Now, I have played a few times and with what little experience I have I would say no. If it means anything, I asked my co-worker who has lots of experience and she said there is only 1 answer and that's because the numbers need to have 1-9 going left to right and up and down, and the puzzle wouldn't work if you even made a mistake on one number.

There are puzzles that have more than one answer, very rare, but they are considered invalid. Go to the source and learn everything you need to know about sudoku puzzles. It is the best site I've found for help, knowledge, and explanations of all sudoku puzzles.

99% of them only have 1 possible answer. the other 1% may have more than one answer because 2 numbers can easily be transposed and still get a correct answer.

you can move 1 number to a different spot and then you would have a COMPLETELY different puzzle.
