When I was in college, I had a major crush on a Puerto Rican girl that lived in the dorm on the floor below me. We crossed in the elevator on occasion, and one day I found the courage to join her at the same lunch table. We got on just fine, and sensing opportunity I asked her out. Miraculously, she agreed!
The night of the big date I wheeled down to her room (I use a sporty wheelchair) and she was running late. She poked her head out of the bathroom, and asked if I would mind waiting for her while she was getting ready.
"Sure, no problem at all" I quickly answered.
After all, this girl was (by far) the hottest to ever accept a date with me. With the Spanish accent thrown in, and her exotic looks, I would have waited all night if she wanted!
So while she was in the bathroom getting ready, I was left casually checking out her room. After a few minutes of waiting, I got bored and wheeled over to the stereo on her desk. I then turned on some music, backed my wheelchair away from the desk, and......*oh sh!t*....at the precise moment of me backing up, my tire stopped cold on a shoe left in the middle of the floor.
It is at this point that I became intimately acquainted with Newton's First Law. You know which one it is: "An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force." That last part will play a major role in this story very soon.
Wheeling backwards, I was definitely in motion. This would not have been a bad thing by itself. However, the day before I had moved the rear axles on my chair so far forward to create a center of gravity that allowed the front to feel like it was floating on air. It was great for pushing, and popping wheelies, but not so good for stability. In fact, it was quite tippy and rather unsafe.
As my chair hit the shoe, it stopped cold. However, I kept going. True to Newton's Law, I maintained the same speed (friggin fast!) and kept going in the same direction (right over backwards!). At that moment I was a goner, and I knew it.
Now anyone using a wheelchair has flipped over backwards at least one time (or many). It sucks. What puts this moment on a new level of suckitude is that I grabbed my handrims in a feeble gesture to maintain order and balance, and -- as I progressed past the point of no return -- I turned my head to see where I would land. Luck would have it that I managed to turn my head at the precise moment necessary to ensure it would connect fully (and squarely!) with the cement floor below...
...and that is the last thing I remember from that evening. My exotic date came out and found me unconscious in the middle of her floor with my feet pointing toward the heavens...still resting in my wheelchair. I am quite sure she had never had a date like that before! Did I mention that she and a friend had to scoop me off of the ground, and drive me to the hospital?
In no small degree, I was mortified (after I got past the concussion and could remember my name, of course). In fact, I turned red every time I would even see her in the hall during the week following our "first date". I n the end, I think she must have felt sorry for me, and asked for us to give it a 2nd try! After thinking about it for two-tenths of a second, I quickly saw the logic in her request and accepted. My only stipulation was that I meet her in the lobby of the dorm this time around!
The funny thing is that the second date worked out wonderfully, and we dated for almost 3 years. Eventually, we broke up for the same reasons that lots of people do. The only regret I have of the whole experience is that I wish I could have seen the look on her face at the precise moment she stepped out of the bathroom that night, and saw the guy in the wheelchair passed out on his back, in the middle of her dorm room floor.

I was at a party with my best friend and I got up to go get a drink for the both of us. The party was being held in the backyard where we all were sitting in patio chairs on the porch. when I came back and went to sit down the back leg on the right side was hanging over the side which made my chair not stable and of course I sat down and fell backwards and rolled over. it was at least 50 peoples that was there not counting the DJ whom made fun of me too over the mic. Even my best friend laughed so hard that she cried the whole night and the next morning when we talked about it. I never went back to that house again.

Gosh, there’s so many, it’s hard to choose… When I was a freshman in high school, during swim class, my bathing suit top fell down as I was surfacing from the water. Oh yes, it was terrible. All the boys were laughing and having a great time over it. Yep, that added a few years onto my therapy!

I was in 6th grade and had a huge crush on this guy. We were in class, and he came up to me with his friends. It just so happened to be April first and he asked me out as an april fools joke. I will never forget that. I don't know if this will make you laugh, but his friends couldn't stop laughing.

I went on a double date bowling, and I had a little too much to drink. My fingers stuck in the ball as I threw it and I slid on my rear a fourth of the way down the lane on my rear. I had splinters stuck in my rear and pants from sliding across the fowl line.

Hmm...I have so many to tell.
Probably one of them was when I had to do a skit in one of my classes. I remember the person who was supposed to speak before me said their line and then paused. So I mistakenly said MY line and actually said it too soon because the person before me wasn't done. I personally think that the person shouldn't of paused for such a long time and then looked at me b/c I took that as a signal for me to go.
Another time was when I was wearing some slimming pants and I was walking with my group of my friends and we saw some guys and then when the guys walked past us, I saw that my zipper was un zipped! Plus, that happened to me again when I was in front of the class presenting something!!
