My boyfriend bought me wonderful stainless steal pans and I was so excited to use them, but I got them too hot so now one is all brown on the inside bottom, and the other is black. ive tried a stainless steal cleaner and a spray from dawn for stuck on on food etc and some has come off but not much. does anyone have any ideas? these pans were not cheap, i would like to avoid buying new ones if possible

Put dishwasher powder and bleach in them with water and boil. Depending on how badly burned it is, you may have to repeat this, scrubbing between treatments. Spraying them with oven cleaner also works but be sure to thoroughly wash the pots before cooking in them again.

Ok I have done this and it REALLY works. Put hot water in the bottom of your pan and lay a fabric softner sheet in the bottom.Let sit over night. Clean the next day and all the gunk should come right up! I have done this many times and so has my mother in law and it works for both of us.Hope this helps,good luck!

There are these tablets called Grease Bullet, you can get them at Linens & Things. They work pretty well. Had the same problem with my stainless steel pans.

Try you some oven cleaner with using some clorox and water and this will definitely do the trick. Do the oven cleaner first and if all do not come off then use the clorox and water to finish the job.

Try using steel wool, SOS pads are steel wool with soap built in and the work great on my stainless pans.

Fallen : use Sos pads they work good for scouring pans bottoms
and keep them clean very well get some today at http://www.cleaningsupply.com also great for BBQ'sgrill too
