It all comes down to ignorance. I'm NOT saying black's are stupid! But I AM saying blacks are less educated and ignorant that Caucasians. They practice unprotected sex more, use drugs more, and, well, are more driven to procreate more than whites, especially because it means they can ride welfare.
They are uneducated, ignorant and almost animalistic in their thinking. They just don't care.

The truth is two factors: EDUCATION and MONEY!

Pure and simple

The drug companies and latex condom companies LIKE money! Education costs Money. Prevention, education, treatment...all cost MONEY.

Understanding cultural differences is another large factor as well. Wearing a condum is indeed emasculating to African males, not to mention the fact that in larger cities in Africa poor females (now most of these are due to the fact that their parents died of AIDS) are forced into prostitution just to scrape by, their "johns" will sometimes ONLY pay if the girls don't insist on a condom. If these girls do try to insist on a condom, they're beaten and raped anyway. Therefore AIDS is transmitted repeatedly from one person to another most predominantly through unprotected sex.

In the US it's still concidered to be a "gay disease" and being gay in the African American community is extremely taboo. African American straight males still refuse to wear condoms for the same reasons their African male counterparts do. Therefore the AIDS epidemic still grows among African Americans as well as Hispanics, Asian Americans, and many other minority cultures.

If, for the sake of argument, we agree that a larger population of blacks are afflicted with the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, I would speculate that it has something to do with the persons who are treating this devastating epidemic making a conscious effort to cure or prevent AIDS in the white population. Since the black population is still the second largest group it would make sense that more are afflicted. I don't believe they have been given what is necessary to stave it off.

Many AIDS victims are black because:
1) AIDS first arose in Africa, the population is overwhelmingly black
2) AIDS tends to be more prevalent in communities that engage in more frequent unprotected sex and IV drug use, which usually means poor communities lacking in resources and sex education; there are a lot of blacks that are also poor, so sometimes these groups overlap. However, this is a gross generalization, since AIDS is just as likely to strike poor white, Hispanic, and Asian communities, and is alarmingly common in middle-income and affluent communities as well.

Worldwide, you would be correct. In the US, no.

Africa has a very high rate of infection. In the US, black men and people of color are one of the fastest growing groups of new infections. India also has a very fast growing rate of infection.

It seems that AIDS follows poverty levels as well. Those with access and who can afford condoms are at less risk than those who can't. Education is also key, as recent rural outbreaks in China due to improper blood donations have shown.

AIDS does not discriminate based on race, gender, or sexual orientation.

In general, because of America's history of unjust treatment towards blacks through Jim Crow laws and segregation, blacks generally live in different neighborhoods than whites.
Unfortunately, a lot of the schools in these areas are not as good (also because of Jim Corw and segregation- bad funding for segregated schools) and therefore sex ed is not taught as much. Because of less education, they cannot get as high paying jobs (in general) as the average white population, and therefore many cannot afford the contraception they need.

It is sad that because of our history there is still such a gap in education among races. Many places are trying to mend the gap, such as inner city schools that are breaking up into smaller schools so students can get individualized attention.

AIDS is a frightening epidemic, but luckily there are many excellent new treatments, and there is much more information out there about AIDS awareness.

Don't order me to agree with youl, please. I agree that there are more black people with AIDS and HIV than white people...that could be because it is primarily concentrated in Africa where the majority of people are black. In America it's probably a variety of reasons..primarily due to the way that black americans are treated by the whites. I am white. I am not an American. This is one of the reasons that I'm glad I'm not.

Africa of course has the most people with HIV. That's where most of the statistics come from. It's a third world country without the resources to treat or contain it, let alone educate the people.
