Can anyone tell me how to become more optimistic? For me, it seems like the glass is 95% empty and 5% full. This is a serious problem that needs to be solved. You can't live like this, please help!

I identify. The only thing I know that helps is setting up an internal dialogue with yourself. Every time you catch yourself thinking a negative thought, train yourself to think, "Yes, but..." and then state a positive perspective on the thought. It's a little bit like Pollyanna's "Glad Game," but it retrains your brain. Positive, upbeat music helps too. Good luck.

Wow I have the same problem. I am working on it as well but it is very hard. I really don't have an answer for you but I just wanted to let you know that you are not the only one dealing with this issue. When I start to be pessimistic I try to think about the few positives in my life. I am healthy, I do really well in school, I have a family and my own apartment. What are the great things in your life? Try to focus on them. THANKS

Yeah I know. Sometimes I think I was born with "I'm screwed" tatooed on my head.
