I think what everyone else said about wait till he sleep sounds good..while he is sleep put the drops in his right ear...After putting the drops in his right ear...Put a cotton ball in that ear..(not the whole cotton ball) just enough to hold the liquid in without it spilling out of his ear..Next do the same thing with the left ear...After applying the drops put a cotton ball in that ear so the drops won't spill out of his ear while he is asleep...Good Luck!!

One idea is to find some kind of ear drops you can use on yourselves to demonstrate/prove that it doesn't hurt & that people can be okay with ear drops.

I suggest you let him lie on your lap and sooth him. Gently coax him to relax and allow the other parent to drop them in one ear. Assure him that you aren't going to let anything bad happen to him, and give him a few chances to comply. If he feels he has some control, he might be more willing to co-operate.

Let him calm down before trying the other ear. Play some soothing music, read him a story, or have something entertaining on TV.

If these things don't work, consult your doctor ASAP because the holidays are upon us.

I know it is hard, try giving him some children's tylenol to ease the pain first and then have him lay his head in your lap and you may need someone else to hold his body if he still won't stay still. but the tylenol should take the pain away and make him groggy enough to get them in easy. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

When my little sister was 4, I had to put her ear drops in. I just put them in while she was sleeping, or told her I would give her a treat if she held still.

your in for a fight no doubt.... this is where the term tough love came from.... you just gotta hold him... if you got someone to help it will help... but you gotta get him used to it.. and its tough.... you could try while he is sleeping but usually only works on one ear without waking him up.....
