I like many things about being old, but can't figure out why many of us are so impatient and crabby. Or is my perception of this just not true?

For some of us, your perception is true. I know my own patience level has shortened. I get frustrated with people alot easier than I use to. My level of concentration is more demanding.

Could be because of the various aches and pains not to mention the weariness of the intellect. The senses constantly being assaulted by the some of the insanity going around now. Not all older people are cranky though and those that aren't seem to be much more cheerier than some of the young.

It's true. I think its a transitional behavior in the life cycle because getting older is like becoming young again in the way you think and react to things around.

Older people have seen enough and don't need to be bothered. They tend to live in their own world and when you try to intrude, they get cranky. Just leave them alone, even your old relatives.
