Like a solenoid hooked to the clutch? That would be a huge solenoid... I've only ever seen them in rally cars; probably a custom job.

Sounds like you want to convert from manual shifter to a paddle shifter, that uses solenoids etc, good idea if you have unlimited funds,it would cost several thousand dollars, but well worth it if you want to race at Indy. Buy a wrecked Mercedes that already has the device and convert it to whatever it is you are presently driving. Anything can be done. There is also manual shifters that automatically depress the clutch while you shift, all of this gear can be purchased in the Summit parts catalog. You will have to use the clutch launching out of first gear, but can slam gears at any rpm after that. This can be done for a mere 3 or 4 thousand.

With Steve-O on this one. You'd have to get this custom done to get it right, and you're looking at MAJOR bucks. If you're looking for faster shifting, get an automatic transmission installed...they can actually shift faster than a manual. I own a Corvette, and have thought about that as well (paddle shifters actually), or a sequential shifter(where I just push the shifter forward or backward to go up and down gears). Big dollars!

You can shift without the clutch if you time it right, but it's going to be slower than actually using the clutch. Drag racers can power shift with a clutch faster than an automatic shifts, but without the right heavy duty components you'll just blow up a street car.

You would have to have an awfully strong thumb to disengage the clutch on your car.
