Hair Cut & Side Swept Bangs, Help Please!!?

Question

I'm getting a haircut in several days & i've never had bangs before. I actually .. nevermind, i got 'soft' barely there, slight side bangs but i hav a habit of sweepin my hand through my hair so it's like my own 'wind blown'-ish hairstyle lol... ok question is tho, how should i word my want to the stylist, bcuz i kno a bunch of ppl wit side swept bangs nd i want specific ones; i want the ones whre if i put my hair up in a pony tail, the bangs will be THERE. like jessica simpson or somthuin. i dont want kinda side bangs so that if i change my whole hairstyle it suddnly disappears. i want it so if i wear those thin stretchy hair bands u can see the side swept bangs, nd the rest of my hair is pushed back;; like a lot of latina girls do after they gel up their hair...... can someone please give some advice on this? i hav dark brown hair that looks light/reddish brown in the sun and i also want some highlights or somthin ... idk...

personally i like the style so thanks for the input .. but yeah .. nicole richie has the best example of the 'long, side swept' almost to ur eyes bangs ... but yeah ..

I personally think side swept bangs are awesome. I was hesitant to get my bangs cut but it makes a big difference fro the better of course. They are a good way of creating a new look for yourself. I would definitely go for it.

ok i have side swept bangs and it took me a while to get them to work how i wanted them to like to stay in place but a hairstylist cant give you side swept bangs well if you dont have bangs really all they can do is cut them for you but all i done was over night i took how much hair i wanted to part to the side and clipped it really good but wetted it a little first then when i woke up in the mornin i unclipped and it took a couple of tries but now i finally got what i wanted!so id try that before i went to the hair stylist so it will already be parted and they can just cut it. thats what i had to do

Cut out a picture of the kinds of bangs you want and show it to your stylist, and tell him/her to give you the exact same bangs on the picture. I have side swept bangs and I love it, but it took me a long time to get it the way I wanted them to. You'll get used to it eventually, though.

And make sure to get a good stylist!!

Cut out photo's from magazines of exactly what you want and take them with you to the hairdresser. This way you can provide different visuals to the stylist for your desired cut, colour, length etc. and there's no room for the hairdresser to put their own spin on it. By doing this there is no room for stylistic interpretation or miscommunication! Have fun.

She can get whatever hair-cut she wants! The best thing to do would be to find a picture of your desied cut, print it out and take it with you when you go to the hairdressers.
