They had to have some reason for putting you in jail in the first place. They have to tell you why they are arresting you. If for some reason you were sound asleep when they told you these things, then you need to go to the District Attorney's Office and ask for a copy of the police report. At your arraignment in court they will provide you with an official complaint from the D.A.s Office. You then can ask for a copy of the police report. The charges will be in the complaint and the information will be in the police report. It might cost you a few dollars to get a copy of it. This usually takes a few days but if you have already been a jail for a while, then the report is probably ready.

When you were read your Miranda rights, you would have been notified of the charges. If you were intoxicated, you might not remember what was said.
