Don't listen to some of these posters. Europe is NOT the same as the US, and most Spanairds DO NOT hate Americans (unless you are rude, loud or annoying, but I'm sure a lot of Americans might hate you then too!) In big cities people can be ruder, but that's everywhere.

Attempting to speak Spanish can earn you a lot of respect too. Try going to Madrid or Barcelona. The larger cities offer tons of things to do. The smaller cities are better, and have more character, but they might be more difficult to get to or navigate if you don't have a basic knowledge of Spanish. The Pyrenees mountains are beautiful as is the Mediterranean coast. Get a guidebook (like Foder's), visit Web sites and you'll find plenty to do.

Spain is a great country filled with great people, and if you take the time to show a little respect you'll find plenty of Spanairds who are interested in learning about your culture as well.

you realise that spain is an entire country with many, many cities, each with unique and interesting things to do.

Lets see, if you're round barcelona way, i'd get a bus to figueres and visit the dali museum. Down south you've got Granada and the Alhambra. In Madrid you have theme parks though I'd visit the statue of the fallen angel, because it's cool. Up north you could hardcore it and take on the camino de santiago.

All depends where you'll be, what you like and how long you'll be staying.

Travel to Spain Barcelona as it now has every leisure and sports facility possible since 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/barcelona.htm

NOTHING! europe is just like the us except most ppl speak english horribly... oh wait... we have that here too... let me rephrase that, europe is exactly the same as the us.

the only reason id go to europe is for bragging rights or to have something to feed the ladies "this one time... when i was in spain..."
