When I was in the service I worked part time as a projectionists and we always had to show the movie at it's scheduled time even if nobody was there.

We found out the hard way...

My cousin works at a theater and we get to go in for free. We got popcorn and soda for free too. So my mom and I sat down and nobody showed up for the movie, so we just waited and waited and waited...for like 40 minutes...and the movie never showed...so we went to the box office to where my cousin was working and asked "when is the movie gonna start?" My cousin let one of the ppl know that the movie didnt start yet and they were like "oh, since it didnt sell any tickets, we didnt start it..."

What pissed us off was that they knew we were going to watch the movie, b/c they saw us come in...but they still didnt play it...So we ended up just going home...BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME...

And was was so crazy about the whole thing was that i asked this question to my mom that night, that if no one showes up do they play the movie...

I think in bigger theaters like AMC...they do play it just in case someone comes in late...the theater we went to was a little town theater...

im telling you, i will never forget that night!!

I don't think anybody buys the tickets at premieres, but they still show the movie anyway...

yeah, where do you think all the employees go...ever notice before a movie starts there employees all over the place....about 50 behind the candy counter, and then when you come out to get a refill on your drink an hour into the movie...no one is around?
