i have an acer travelmate 2480 and im wondering bout windows vista, and im wondering if were to install it, if it would be extrely slow. it has :

inte celeron M processer 410 @1.46GHz, 533Mhz FBS ,1 MB of L2 cache.

Moblie intel 940 GML Express chipset.

40gb HDD

512 Mb of ram
and thats all u really need 2 know bout it, plz help. not 2 mention 10pts.!!!

Vista will require 2 CPU's (the new dual chipsets that are coming out), and I think at a minimum 2 gig of Ram.

So, it wont even run, much less be slow. Stick with XP, and unless you're extremely adept with PC's, I wouldn't even start to think about using Vista until the 1st service Pack from Microsoft is released.

But until you upgrade your machine to a newer one...don't even bother trying to install Vista. you should be able to go to the Microsoft Web Site and get the actual physical MINIMUM requirements for Vista compatible computers.
