Ask him. Find out why he wants to work things out. What else does he have to gain from it? When you know the answers for the last two questions you will know if he truly loves you.

Ask him to wait. propose the idea that you need your space and you will be taking it. Then take it, different homes, even if its moving the furniture in the house so that you have your own individualized rooms. If he protests right off the bat at hearing the idea, he doesnt love you. If he agrees and makes it a few days he does not love you. If he actually does wait for weeks even months, he loves you.

when you sneeze, does he say bless you? when you don't feel well, does he offer to bring you medicine or tea or soup? Does he want to spend time with you at night or on the weekends? Do you laugh together? If you answer yes to those questions then he loves you. If you answer no, then you need to talk to him and let him know you don't feel loved. He might be in love with you but not know how to show it. Or he might not, only he knows.

Good luck.

If you want to find out... ask him. And the true test only comes when the chips are down and you two stick through it. There's no "trying to test" anything, it'll come naturally.

Is he working hard to keep you two together? Men don't usually put effort working on something if they really aren't interested or in love with that person.
