I heard that many harley parts are made overseas, and not in the good old U.S.of A.

Yep, some parts are foreign made. This is nothing new though. Most of the suspension parts have been Jap for as long as I can remember. Some of the carbs, certain electrical too. There are more foreign parts now ,but they are made to H.D. specs.

Correct ,,up till about 5 years ago Harley had only one style of bike ,Now they have the Buel , and a few choppers avialable at the Dealership,,all with parts made in Japan ,,just like West Coast Choppers..lol

Most of the parts are outsourced in the East or Mexico Even some of the engine parts are built by Japan Honda but are assembled in the USA. If the forks on them (and most are ) Made by SHOWA that is a Honda owned factory

Harley Davidson motorcycles have parts made from all over the world, they are assembled in the U.S. The Honda Goldwing is also assembled in the U.S., Ohio

Some parts are foreign made Carbs and forks are Japanese Wiring harness is made in Mexico and I be leave the engine parts are German.(Porche helped design the Evo and V-Rod Motor) Engines are still assembled in Milwaukee Final assembly is in York PA.

Some are outsourced. Just like Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, or anything else American made.

Truth be told, most U.S. companies today outsource. I am having a difficult time accepting this and I don't think I'll ever get over it.

REB THEY ARE ABOUT 51-65% AMERICAN MADE THAT WAY THE CAN STILL CLAIM AMERICAN MADE YA KNOW THAT WAY THE CAN STILL STAMP IT [MADE IN THE USA] BUT TRUST ME IF THE COULD GET AWAY WITH IT AND STILL CLAIM USA THE WOULD OUTSOURCE IT ALL [YA KNOW THE OLD SAYING IF THE WOULD HIRE MORE ENGINERS THAN LAWYERS THEY ACTULLAY MIGHT MAKE A DECENT BIKE ] MY FAVORITE THOUGH IS IF THEY MADE AIRPLANES WOULD YOU FLY IN THEM!!!!!

Mostly cheap off-shore crap now. If they thought they could get away with it it'd all be made in Mexico, in a heartbeat. Willie G, the G stands for Greed.
