Would you rather know about it, or would you rather not know about it?
Keep in mind, this disease, whatever it might be, is going to kill you, no hope for a cure, no hope for any recovery.
This might be a little strange, but I think I would rather not know about it, having my own mortality hanging over me like that would be too much of a burden, possibly making my last days miserable. What's your opinion?

Not knowing could leave a lot of open questions when the time comes. Consider if you were paying child support. Death is not considered a valid reason for not paying your support. If you don't make arrangements as regards your estate, it can be taken to be applied to your obligation.

I knew a man who was a widower and remarried, but divorced after a few years and two children. He was injured in a hunting accident, costing him a leg and preventing him from continuing to work as a police officer. He couldn't get equal income employment and fell behind in his child support. A Springfield, MO Judge jailed him, but wouldn't allow him to keep his artificial leg for getting around. The jail had a fire and he was killed. The court took everything and put an attachment on anything he might get from his parents, when they pass away, leaving nothing for his older children from his late wife, to live on.

we all have a terminal disease--its called death. no one avoids it forever, so deal with it and move on. I know EVERYDAY that this could be my last, and I attempt to live accordingly. car wreck, disease, accident, heart attack-everyday is someones last day.
I m not trying to slam your question--but NO ONE WANTS to know when they will die--most of us try to avoid it.
how about this one--
how long would you want to be kept alive against your will if you were terminally ill and in great pain?
what if your were conscious and aware but unable to communicate or move? is that living to you?
