So I'm finishing a degree in pharmacy but I'm thinking of moving to LA to try acting after I finish school. I'd like to take some chances in life because I'll only be 27 and I won't have a family. I'd work as a pharmacist at 1/2 or 2/3 full-time and then do acting and classes with the rest of my time. What time of day do actors work? I could try it for a few years and if the acting doesn't work I'll move on. If anything, it seems like it would be fun and interesting. What do you pharmacists or actors out there think? Is it a good idea?

I can't believe I am actually advising you to do this but......what the hell, Give it a go!!

Even working part-time as a Pharmacist you'll be doing all right financially. The only problem will be work schedules made out in advance will not be terribly forgiving of auditions, call-backs etc.

As a pharmacist, the work market place is wide open for you. You will be much in demand. Working half time will give you a very good income, and you would then be able to pursue your other career. Best of luck to you. I don't think there is a time frame for when actors audition. You just go to the casting calls and such. If you could work part time as a pharmacist in the evenings, you would have your days open.

I have a better solution that would allow you to make money and continue to study and grow as an actor. If none of it works out you can be a pharmacist. I know a way you can make about $5,000 a month working maybe five hours a week. If you're interested email me

All the world is a stage and people act all the time. It is just a question of how good and versatile you are at it. Professionals just make it so easy. You know when you've got what it takes - ask the likes of Tiger Woods and Roger Federer. They will tell you it is a natural talent coupled with lots of hard work.

Yeah, there's a lot to be said for your plan, because

1) When you tell people you're an actor and they say "Yeah? Which restaurant?" you can just come straight back with the name of your pharmacy, and

2) Actors get through a whole lot of drugs.

Good luck!
