i recently had someone call me a ***** and a psycho for sharing my opinion on chihuahas - i wasn't out to deliberately offend. it's pretty harsh abusing someone for not agreeing with you on something trivial

I know!

it's kinda scary how you can suddenly, inexplicably, and without provocation, seem to push somebody's button and they unleash a volcano of fury upon you.

after the initial shock wears off,
you realize they are only words....
they can't hurt you.
and that the person is likely disturbed...
so perhaps it's best to feel pity for the poor soul.

or change your name and move to a new city.

Yeah, I have twice. Once was this woman who asked a question about homeschooling and i gave my opinion on the subject (which, admittedly, wasn't asked for) and she did not like it. She was an angry, angry woman though. She pretty much attacked everyone that didn't agree with her. The other one was a guy advertising cheap contact lenses for sale and I posted a warning to people that they have to get prescription contacts even if they're only cosmetic, because the wrong shape contact can cut into your eye and cause infections. And he gave me best answer just so he could blast me about it! He called me a non-educated **** and accused me of trying to get a cheap laugh? What the crap? Anyway he was obviously a complete moron, and he gave me best answer so who cares? : )

Aww. That is so mean. I can't believe someone did that. You have the right to have an opinion too. Yahoo answers is a place where you get peoples opinions if people cant deal with it they shouldn't be on here. ♥

Not abused like others but I have had sarcastic remarks made
or been totally ignored or thumbs down on a very good answer.

I got a "violation for someone asking "Can someone give me an example of a moral dilemma" and my answer was:

I would LIKE to help you but I am torn....should I be a good person and help you with this or am I just helping you cheat on your homework...what to do what to do....."

He turned me in as a violator..... WTF?
