I believe that she should have her crown taken away. It's not a matter of making mistakes because we all know that everyone makes them. However, I believe that is unfair because there was an incident when Vanessa Williams was Miss America(or miss Usa....can't remember). Anywho, she had her crown snatched away because of nude pictures that she had taken before she received the crown. Some may say that this was such a long time ago so it doesn't count, but I believe that if you create a standard it should be upheld and exceptions should not be made!!!!!

No. It is a free society. Don't see anything wong just with friends having some fun, after all aren't this a wide spread activity enjoyed by most? What was she before her win? If she was a party girl, not fair to expect a change overnight to assume the role of the "upright" and "morally pristine" person. If a 'role model" means someone has to pretend to be correct in public whilst in private is the complete opposite, then it says little for the so-called moral code of practice or ethics. She is a grown up though not quite 21. Give her the liberty she must be used to and also the credit to know what is right (not perceived to be right). America is America, so lets not pretend thus showing the world a 'false' front in which case we would only be bluffing and grand-standing. However, if it is in the charter that if elected she should be seen to be brushing her teeth morning and night and after every meal or drink, change her underwear three times daily, do not use mascara, eat plenty of organaic greens, drink only distilled water, use only a designated type of transport, go to bed at 9 pm and alone and be sure to be up and smiling sharp at 6.30 am and do not touch any liquid that has a tiny whiff of alcohol, then I say by all means strip (not her clothes for we are prudes) her of the (empty) title never mind her protests of innocence, expressions of contriteness and the gallons of tears and then promote the next in line but making absolutely sure that she completely understands and can deliver on the charter rules (but this may be looking for the proverbial needle in the barnyard as no such beauty exists, most certainly not amongst 20 year old girls in America.) Miss America, like all so-called elected beauties, is human (I presume) and has her foibles. I t is right to giver her a chance but be very clear with future contestants that America (or more correctly the organisers) expect nothing short of saintliness of their contestants and those who aren' to keep themselves scarce!

No one should even care. How this is news is beyond me in the first place. Who ever said her not stepping down is a disgrace to women should watch one of these pageants. No one cares how smart these women are, what talents they posses, or what they can contribute to society. People just care how hot they look in a swimsuit. The whole thing is an insult to women. They are basically upgraded hookers selling their body as a name. Not that I don't like women in swim suits but the fun of the whole male/female attraction thing is finding an attractive person who is fun to be with, not just good looking in the sack. There are too many plastic, bubbly, bleached bimbos in this world, and this is another one I could care less about. The fact that can't even handle reality (the whole issue behind her drinking) should be proof that she shouldn't be a role model. I dub her Paris Hilton Jr.

The 2004 Miss USA said that its good that she didn't get her crown removed because it shows that nobody's perfect and that she could help teenagers not to make the same mistake she made.I think she has her crown becuase she's a beautiful dumb blonde girl who loves to party like Paris Hilton and Tara Reid and the Donald likes those types of girls. If she only got drunk then she should have kept her crown because come on she's young and wants to have fun and she should enjoy life and nobody can tell her how to live her life. However, since she did cocaine she crossed the line and has gone too far and deserves to have her crown removed permanently. That's a bad role model for young girls across the U.S.

She definitely should have it taken away. She's a stupid bimbo and this is the real world and there are consequesnces for actions like that. The fact that she's getting a second chance is the worst thing that could happen to her, because now she's not getting the rude awakening that may have saved her from a life time of alcohol and drug abuse. It's not only bad for our society that she gets a second chance, but it's the begining of the end for her.

I understand that we all make mistakes. However she knew when she accepted the title that she would be a role model, esp for young ladies. What she did is not being a good role model
and we need in this messed up society good wholesome role models for our youth. I have have enough of celebrities that are sluts, anorexic drunks. So I am not upset that Mr Trump did not take her title. I hope this taught her a lesson.

Yes. If anyone else in a highly public job/office who was underage was caught in such an uncompromising and illegal position they would have definitely been terminated. I think blondie sat on Uncle Don's lap and got a second chance.

Well, if she does, I don't believe Donald Trump, a philanderer should have any say-so in the issue (Maddison and Wall comb-over freak that he is). Doesn't anyone find it a little perverse that he oggles these not-quite-old-enough-to-drink girls and then pretends to have morals?
