Because raindeers have no wings... so... how can they fly? They dont have wings that offer resistance to wind that can make them fly.

OK, there are only two ways to fly, first one is lift + speed, like an airplane, the turbines createe thrust (speed) the wings creat lift. Now with that in mind you have to have the right power to weight ratio, so in this case a reindeer we will say it weighs about 100 pounds, if the reindeer could move at about 40 mph and had wings then it would be able to fly, (lift and speed), unfortunately reindeer have no wings and can not move that fast. The other way to fly is to create a anti gravity filed around the object again in this case a reindeer, now to keep this simple a anti gravity field would revers the effects of gravity, (that's what keeps us on the ground 14 psi) an anti-gravity field would create a -15 psi you would float around like a bubble in the wind. Know this we do not have the ability to create an anti gravity field so this is now ruled out. So my conclusions is that no reindeer that we know of here on this plant can fly, sorry......But I hope this helps.

Flight is all about balancing the creatures weight compared to the lift provided by its wings.

An adult Reindeer can weigh in the range of 200 lbs.
Now if its wings were sufficiently large they would be able to lift that weight and fly. Now as reindeer are sadly completely lacking in wings their total potential lift is in fact zero. As such they are unable to fly. They can get air born for a brief time if you push one off a cliff, but their flight time is based purely on the height of the cliff and in no way effected by their nonexistent wings.

Because reindeer cannot create enough thrust and/or upward lift to overcome the force of gravity.

Of course Reindeer can fly. Just call Southwest Airlines. You can even send them first class if you want!

They do fly, once a year, and that day is coming right up! Actually, there is someone crazier than you for asking this question - he actually did the math and wrote this article....

who says reindeer can't fly? Where's your faith? Where's your belief in the mystery of the unknown? Why do you think they make magic corn for them?????

they cant kick their legs fast enough to creat enough air pressure underneath them for the air to force them up and give them their weightless feeling. especially if its cold outside- the water is frozen and there is no water in the air at all. poeple/animls are lighter than the water amount they take up and thats hows we float. but yeah thats about it.
