I've heard some about KC, but it's really a football town. If KC does get the Penguins, they'll have a rival to match us (STL) in all 3 sports (baseball, football and hockey) that KC and STL have. Although, with Baseball, KC was the second worse team in the MLB last year and the Cards were WS champions and I don't think either football team is doing anything spectacular. Also, the Blues can't get much worse, although the Pengiuns aren't a whole lot better. The Penguins may move to KC, we'll have to wait and see. Who does that leave Pittsburgh with, the Pirates? Does Pittsburgh have aother pro team of any sport?

The NHL might make a comeback in Kansas City, Mo., now that Pittsburgh Penguins owner Mario Lemieux is exploring his options about moving the team.
The Kansas City Scouts left for Denver in 1976 after a two-year stay in which the team won 27 of 160 games. The renamed Colorado Rockies didn't fare much better and departed for New Jersey in 1982.
But Kansas City appears to be a viable option for the Penguins in the wake of the Pennsylvania Gaming Commission Board's rejection of a slot machine license application by Isle of Capri Casinos, which had pledged $290 million for an arena in Pittsburgh to replace 45-year-old Mellon Arena.
The Penguins' lease expires in June and Kansas City's new $276 million Sprint Center is scheduled to open in October.
William "Boots" Del Biaggio III, who has a contract with the arena to operate an NHL team, is a limited partner with the San Jose Sharks and has had business dealings with Lemieux.
"Let's just say it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas," Brenda Tinnen, general manager of the Sprint Center, told The Kansas City Star.
Houston, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, Portland, Ore., and Winnipeg, Manitoba, also have been mentioned as possible destinations.
Del Biaggio, Lemieux and former NHL forward Luc Robitaille are investors with the Omaha Lancers, a junior team in the U.S. Hockey League, and Robitaille is an executive with Anschutz Entertainment Group, which will manage the Sprint Center.
PITG Gaming, which was awarded the slots license, has agreed to help fund a new arena for the Penguins, but only if the city and the team also contribute.
"I feel terrible for (Lemieux)," Penguins forward Mark Recchi told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "He's worked so hard to keep the team here and done everything right. I'd like to see him get rewarded for it. He's done everything in his power to keep the team here, and now it's out of his hands."
Ryan Malone, another Penguins forward, called the decision to reject the Isle of Capri application a "slap in the face" to Lemieux.

I do not know where they will go, but if they are smart they will go to Houston, Texas. They have a decent hockey history (Gordie Howe even played there). Their minor league team has been successful. And they are, by far, the largest city in the running. Even if they are not as hockey mad as fans in Canada, with over 5 million people in the area, you'll have no trouble filling the seats. I'd rather see the team go to Winnipeg, personally, but if I'm an owner and I want to make a buck: Houston is my choice.

Hmmm...I'm not sure. It's sad how they have to move. If the red sox ever had to leave Boston...i think ill just cry or any team from New England. I can't imagine how they fans in Pittsburgh are feeling. Well, It would be cool if they came up here to New England even though we already have a team. But 2 is better than 1. But I bet they're going to move west or they might go to canada...u never know.
