Find some old pictures. Make copies,don't ruin the originals. Then make a scrapbook. You can include some of your memories and what you were doing. If you have some old Christmas photos those are the greatest. They do have some picture frames that you can fill with photos of you. If your capable of doing it without him knowing about it let the whole family join in and you can all make a big scrapbook. With a computer you can make him a video scrapbook.
I hope this helps.

How about a coupon book? Make out individual coupons that state that you will do things such as; wash his car, carry out the trash etc...you know your Dad. Put the coupons in a booklet. Write on each one"valid upon request" or something like that.

I think a priceless gift that you could make for your Dad is a COUPON Book that he could use throughout the year. It might have coupons for his back scratched, an unconditional hug from his favorite daughter, his favorite meal or cookies baked, help with a task he usually has to do by himself..... try it he will like it. Merry Christmas!

There is a poem, but I don't what it's called or who it's by:

I had a father who talked with me,
Who gave me the right to disagree,
To ask questions, and always answered me
As best he could, and truthfully.

He talked of adventures; the horrors of war;
Of life, its meaning, and what love was for
How each would always need to strive
To improve the world to keep it alive.

He stressed the duty we owe each other
To be aware each man is a brother.
Words of laughter he also spoke,
A silly song or a happy joke.

Time runs along, some say I'm wise
That I look at life with seeing eyes -
My heart is happy, my mind is free;
For I had a father who talked with me!

You could re-write the poem in your own handwriting (neatly, of course!) and include the date, then frame it for him. I did this for my dad for Father's Day one year and it actually brought tears to his eyes!

Good luck - hope this helps!

Why don't you make him a homemade Christmas Card and then maybe you can try cooking him dinner. He would probably love to cook with you and share the experience.

What are you good at? Can you make him a photo or picture and frame it? Can you sew or knit? If he likes food, you can make him some flavored vinegar or flavored olive oil and put it in a nice bottle.
