I started to feel down, thinking I didn't do anything for Christmas, but then I realized I: sent a few cards, decorated the house a bit, got a tree and made ornaments, did a little shopping (I only have 4 people to buy for), and I'm cooking dinner Monday. But since don't feel stressed, haven't hit the sales or felt the "craziness" all the people interviewed on the news talk about, why do I feel I'm missing it? Can the media make me feel "bad" for feeling what I consider normal??

Hey, you're doing great. We've had a really difficult year, so we've scaled down Christmas big time. We didn't even bother with a tree this time around- just a set of lights in the windows. Most of my shopping was done the beginning of November. The peace and calm can actually be uncomforatable if you're used to that last minute shopping crunch with all the crowds- some people really enjoy that adrenaline high they get from it.

Not if you don't let them. You are not missing anything because you are actually enjoying the season and not stressing over anything. The media just like to make a big deal out of something that isn't that big of a deal for some of us who really know how to handle the season. It is apparent to me that the media were looking for people that were freaking out over the stress of the holiday season between shopping for gifts and food, and you have (like me) have a handle on it so don't let the media get to you and make you think that you have done something wrong by not getting stressed over the season.

Merry Christmas and go right ahead and enjoy yourself.

Don't feel bad at all. Some people turn Christmas in to a nightmare, of stress & anxiety then blame it on Xmas. Love Xmas & we keep it very simple & our Holiday. The family was always our focus. Getting together in our little group, many good memories we have. A no. of yrs back we decided as a group of adults that we want the grandchildren to really understand that celebrating the family was celebrating the birth of Christ. So the adults quite buying gifts for each other. We buy for the children yes,but our gift is being together. Guess what they get it. They can't wait to get together on that day. I hope that always that will be my gift to them that they remember. You have yourself a Merry Christmas.

Don't forget that the News Media gets paid through Sponsors.
Sounds to me like you've done all the good!
We aren't all the same in everyday life, and we aren't the same at Christmas. As long as we know the true meaning, and the reasons we celebrate, I don't think we have to go crazy.

Watch your favorite Christmas movie. Rudolph the red nosed reindeer is on right now and that always does it for me!
Find a copy of your favorite Christmas story and read it.
You'll get there but don't try so hard.
I made some chex mix and that always means Christmas to me.

Yes you feel ashamed that you do not have all the same problems that the others seem to have.
