There aren't any. Also, any answers you do have on here could be disproved. For example, the argument of adopting kids. There are so many children out there that need loving parents. If these were the only two options which would you choose. Boucing the kids around between 20 different foster homes so that their lives are a mess, or put them into a home with two loving same-sex partners that love and care about the child? Well, I know there are going to be people that are so close minded that they would choose the first option. That leads me to my second point. Some argue that the children will be confused about their sexuality and think that it is okay for them to be gay. #1- It is okay to be gay and #2 Children of same-sex marriages have the same odds of becoming gay or straight as children that grew up with parents of the opposite sex. Do some research people. Finally, these children would have no reason to be confused as to whether being gay is wrong or right, if it wasn't for these ignorant bigots who put that idea in their heads. If everyone just accepted that being gay is just as normal as being straight then we wouldn't have any problems. Everyone could live happily. Imagine a time when a person won't even think twice about someone getting married to someone of the same sex and that same couple adopting children. I believe that someday this will happen. Although, I'm probably very far ahead of my time.

I can't. I could think about this day and night and still not come up with anything. And I'm going to straighten some of these answers from the nasayers.
1.) Tax Exemptions - Truthfully, who do you think spends more in this country? It sure the he** isn't hetrosexuals, gays & lesbians have been said to boost traveling & toursim which then boost the economy of many states, cities and travel agencies which then in return they have to pay their taxes...then that puts the money right back into the governments pot.
2.) Adopted Children - Seriously where the he** did you live & who the he** raised you? My best guess is Bigotsville and the worst parents in America. Self respecting parents teach their children to get along with everyone, and to love one another whether they were black, white, big, small and every where inbetween Even if Timmy had a burger hanging out of his nose, and you thought it was gross. Same-sex couples can raise kids just as good as a hetrosexual, read this report on WebMD http://www.webmd.com/content/Article/113/110762.htm , if that doesn't say enough for you then watch Logos documentary (on logoonline.com) called "Raising Teens" it takes a look into homes where teens who have been raised by gay & lesbian couples and all of them say they like it and when asked whether they are gay or straight all of them say they know 100% they are straight, so yes kids are taught to respect everyone just like heterosexual parents would teach their kids. And no it does NOT confuse them about their sexuality.
3.) It would make our country look "retardedly", how many gays, lesbians, and straight people that support us would say that the U.K. looks retarded for allowing gay marriages and giving people the rights they deserve?
And let me make this one last point, they have proven that gay marriages are good for our economy, in this point in time due to the government spending our money like its their personal penny bank then b******* at us cause we spend to much, a President who has no idea what he's doing and throwing us into deeper debt every minute that passes by, can't you agree that we need something that would help our economy?
Bigots I'm not asking for a miracle, but what I am asking is that you make some room in your narrow minded heads and think about some of the points that all of us have made and that I have just stated and realize the positives this will bring even for you, insteaded of making up negatives.

Nothing negative will happen. In fact, and I say this as 100% Greek Orthodox CHRISTIAN, they should be able to marry, and for all the people who say that it's ruining straight marriages, think about this: Britney Spears' straight marriages? That ruins it for me. And half or more of all homosexual marriages in the United States end up as a divorce, and that's just sad. Gay people are normal, people. Some people need to get over it.

The sky would fall...oh wait, that's a Conservative Christian lie.
Um, They'd start letting people marry animals and children and their trucks....oh, no, wait, that's a religious fundamentalist's slipery slope theory.
Um, hold on, I'll think of something....uh, how about this; it would confuse all those poor kids who get adopted by gay/lesbian couples....no, wait, that's some neo-con's excuse.
Get real. Nothing bad would happen!
The sky isn't going to fall, no one's suddenly going to run off and marry their pogo stick, my nieces aren't going to be married off before they hit puberty, and what terrible result would it be for an unwanted child to suddenly be adopted by a family who actually loves them REGARDLESS of physical or emotional needs?
Look the kids gays and lesbians most predominantly adopt are the kids nobody else want, the kids born with crack addiction or alcohol addiction syndrome, kids with phyiscal disablities, kids with emotional or mental handicaps...these are kids who desperately need loving, caring homes and they find them in the UNCONDITIONAL love of families who actually want them!
How on earth is a child being loved UNCONDITIONALLY EVER a bad thing?
It's not.

Nothing Negative could happen!
Divorce...Straight people have been getting married for thousands of years and look what they have done to it...52% divorce rate!
Children...Child Abuse comes MOSTLY from heterosexual households. Plus if Angelina and Madonna leave us any we could adopt from around the world.
Give us the chance to show you that we are just as boring as everyone else and we just want the simple right of sharing our lives with the one we love.

Several countries in Europe have recently restored recognition of same sex marriages, doesn't seem to have hurt them one bit.
In the US, the problem would be that the fundies would have one less issue to make people afraid enough to support the fundies. The resulting freedom could be a disaster for fundie fundraising and elections. I would like to see it happen.
Sure wish the fundies would decide that war is immoral!

What would be the purpose of being married? Marriage is a legal term. Homosexuals can already put into play, through power of attorney and a living will that will entitle them to everything that a married couple have.
This is not about love; it's about getting benefits for your partner. This would place just another burden on the government for socialized health care, on insurance companies for the same reasons and benefits from social security. Where is the line drawn? Two bros live in a college dorm for a semester and decide to "get married" even though they are not gay just to cash in on some benefits the other is entitled to.
Maybe a woman who has a child and is on welfare wants a little more money in her pocket so she "marries" another woman and charges the woman rent but allows her health care benefits from welfare even though they're not intending on having a permanent relationship. What about Peppy Rodrigo charging men to come across the border and marry him for a fee, then after they get their papers get a divorce. These are all scenarios that do not involve homosexuals but the potential for fraud is immense.
I know that nothing I say is going to change anybody's mind but if anyone and everyone can get "married" then nobody should. The purpose of getting married is to have a family and reproduce. To be honest with you I don’t believe that homosexuals should be able to adopt. And before you go calling me names just remember the majority of voters in this country believe as I do.
I've been married for almost 30 years to the same woman (I'm a straight man) and it has been tough at times but it should mean something and if anybody and everybody can get married for no other reason than to screw over the system, what's the point? Why can you make up your own term, why do you have to use the term marriage? You are already a protected class, why do you feel that you are entitled to it all?
Well, I’ll vote against any senator, congressman or president that attempts to make homosexual marriage legal. And as an American I have just as much right to think this way as you do to think your way.

Nothing negative would happen. On the contrary, I think more children would get adopted as a result, and that's a good thing. :) I hope that gays will eventually be allowed to marry. I think it's messed up that overpriviledged men can strip people of basic human rights based on someone's sexual preference. Blessed be.

I cant think of one, i mean more kids will be adopted. I know some people think that it will mess up a kid but the kid has a chose of who they like or dislike, relationship wise. But really i think it would be a good idea for same sex marriage. if it makes the people happy go for it!
