what exactly does it means to be miss america??, is it a real job?, or is it all a ego thing? what makes one woman miss america and one not?, actually all the constestants looks the same to me. beauty is in the eye of the beholder, i see beautiful woman everyday, of all shapes , color and sizes. what makes one type of woman miss america and one type not??

You NEVER hear from Miss America after they win. Unless they turn into alcoholics and have to go to rehab of course.

Depends, like everything else in the world. This group of judges chose one woman, another group might have chosen another.
Of course it's an ego thing, I think that all beauty pageants are.
It is a real job for the winner though, for one year. I think that they give them a fancy place to live for that year, and handle their expenses, and that there's some sort of financial compensation as a prize, but I'm not really sure how that works.
They're required to make personal appearances and do photo ops and interviews, but I've only seen one Miss A in an interview on TV years ago. She was involved in publicity work for a specific charity and was talking about what she did. If I hadn't been bored enough to watch that, I wouldn't know a thing about it otherwise. It's not the sort of thing which really interests me.

I would never want someone like tara conner representing my country, how embrassing.
anyway, its all crap, its just a waste of money and time, all it really proves is how shellow humans can be sometimes.
Miss america is all about looks, nothing else, its really just a perve session. I pesonally find watching pageants boring and if I was to ever watch a full pageant it would probably just make me depressed. you dont see average every day women with realistic size bodies on there? they should be putting real women on there that have been doing amazing things for america and have done great things in there lives, who cares about some girl who has been raised by her parents to be parctically be perfect all the time. how boring.
I think this hole miss usa thing is a bad thing all up, it probably mkes the average teen or women feel like crap and young girls are very impressionable, I know if I ever have kids I would never let them what a miss usa pageants becase I dont want them thinking that if they dont look like that way or dress that way then they wont be excepted in life.

Miss America is not just a beauty contest. Once they win, they travel all over the United States and give speeches and help people. To win Miss America, you not only have to be beautiful, but talented, a good speaker, and want to help people.

It's just a thing. I personaly don't really care about it, but it makes money. And that is a good enough reason for people to do it.
