I was just wondering about gay marriage, why do so many people think it's wrong, or it should be against the law? First you have the people who thinks it's not natural, now I never chose to be gay I never wanted to be discramented against for who I am. People are who they are, they do not choose this path. They do what makes them happy. Then you have Religious people, I grew up in a pentecostal church who tought me it was un-godly and gay people can not go to heaven. I know that I am in love with my partner, god says love is truth, there is no love greater than gods love, so on. How can true love be wrong? It can, it's what your heart feels, and no one can change that. If two people want to be married and spend their lives commited together in matramony why not let them? Hwck, some people get 2, 3, even 4 marriages and I cant get one? What do you think?

I think love is beautiful, be it boy-girl, girl-girl, or boy-boy!

Separation of Church and State.
It is unconstitutional for the government to ban certain people from getting married.

I agree with you but there seems to be a few basic reasons why most people (Christians, etc.) think it's wrong. One would be that they believe the Bible is THE authority and that the Bible says that marriage is between a man and a woman. Period. I don't have a Bible handy to prove that but that's what people claim. Another is even if someone believes you were born gay, they may honestly believe it is an illness or mental defect. Some people think that if you cared enough, you'd be willing to try to change that with the help of God. If you were too 'weak' to change that, you should at least avoid 'living in sin' and just pretend you are straight because it's the 'right' way to act and at least you are trying. They think that your love of God should come before all else, including any romantic relationship you may have, especially if it's a 'sinful' one.

You cannot argue that with them and it's their right to feel that way but I still don't understand why they feel they need to control gay people. If Christians believe gay people are going to hell, I wish they could just step back and let it happen rather than make a big fuss about it.

You cannot reason your way out of this.
Like fear of snakes, which no one can explain, so too is a fear of homosexuals that no one can understand
They call gays "unnatural" and "perverted" and all sorts of other things but the reality is, its based on fear. They don't LIKE you around and so they don't want you to be recognized or given any rights or advantages at all.
You will never be able to reason with the people on this. The courts and judges are the ONLY people who will ever find in your favor!

Whoops! I think I put my politics in the washing machine with my religion! What ever am I to do?

...Guess I'll run for office...

It's because people are stupid. In all honesty. Heterosexist ideals are no better than rascist ideals. Thats it boiled down.
