I dropped my marker and it hit my light blue, velour sweatshirt. How do I remove the stain? It won't come out with soap and water.

Sharpie will not come out, sorry. It is one of the most permanent markers made!

Nail polish remover, alcohol or oops will only spread the stain. The only thing that may help is to spray with wd-40. DO NOT RUB! Lay garment on a white rag or paper towel and blot with another rag. If It seems as though it is working, (you'll see red on both rags) keep repeating until you have remove the stain. Personally, I would not go to so much trouble for a sweatshirt but would cover the stain with an applique or make the stain part of a design by drawing around it with the sharpie. (a heart perhaps)

If you are near a Wal-Mart, look in the home improvement chemical area for a can of Oops! It will remove permanent marker from fabric. It even removes crayon and sticker residue.

try greased lightening cleaner/degreaser it won't harm fabrics and gets just about anything out. You might want to scrub it but DO NOT dry it in the dryer until you get it out cause the heat sets stains and stuff in the fabric.

You can try hairspray or alcohol, just be careful, try on another spot that doesn't show first to make sure it doesn't change the color. I also heard of using nail polish remover, maybe water it down. good luck.
