Depends on how sheltered your parents are. Haven't your parents ever said "oh why don't you have a gf" something along those lines... well use that as the opener because just coming out and saying it out of no where can be kind of jarring.

the answer to your question depends more on how accepting your parents are than anything. If they are going to throw him out or send him for a cure or preach endlessly at him for being so sinful, then he probably shouldn't aste his time telling them. He'd be better off to get his education, move away for his career and simply send them an invitation to his wedding once he finds the right person.
On the other hand if they are loving and supportive and will continue to be that way for a gay son, then there's no problem in
talking to them openly about his sexual orientation.
If the parents tend to be in the middle somewhere, then maybe he should just be himself and let his gay side show by dating guys, etc. and not making an issue out of it. The parents will figure it all out sooner or later. Thsi way they sort of work up to realizing it slowly at a pace they can accept.
There is no set answer, you two just have to figure out what benefit there woudl be from each type of approach then take the route that is approrpiate.

There are always so many different answers to questions about coming out. That just clearly shows, to me, that coming out is very personal and different for everyone.
First off, I would like to say that I assume you're straight and supportive of your brother. He is very lucky to have you and I wish more gay men had such loving brothers who would take the time to help his brother like this.
Personally, I don't have the answer to your question. I would suggest that your bother analyse the situation with your parents. Are they bother open minded? What will their likely response to his revelation be? Is one parent or the other more likely be more supportive?
There used to be a book entitled "Loving Someone Gay" by Don Clark that I used to buy and give to friends who were coming out to their parents. It's an AMAZING book, and I am in no way related to the author. I told my friends to give it to their parents. Maybe that will help too.
Best of luck and I hope things work out for your brother.

I was in this same situation. I came out of the closet and every thing was fine. the parents will have different reactions due to if they are with or against gay people. I told my mom during a movie and it went incredibly smooth.

sorry he needs to do this on his own, I got here out to my mother and father myself, he desires braveness. My mother and father have been stunned in the past each and every thing yet than usual it. do no longer push him to come again out the two through fact he continues to be very youthful, permit him verify whilst the time is robust yet do no longer tell them for him reason it will make it appear as if he's ashamed of it. basically tell him to be happy with who he and tell his mother and father whilst he feels the time is robust. yet be there for him whilst he does come out, you the two are brothers and ought to have each and each others back no depend what. Being which you're area of this new era you're possibly greater accepting than your mother and father who dont understand lots approximately something

I would tell one parent at a time, and start with the parent who would be more open minded

They know already. He should just live his life. When they are ready to discuss the "issue" they'll approach him. If he feels he needs their approval before he can go on with his life than he needs to act like he has a pair and just sit them down and tell them. What's the absolute worst thing that can happen?

He should just sit them down and say what he needs to say.
If they love him and they're good parents it won't matter to them.
