When it embarrasses the girl to wear shorts or a skirt. But I would say that age 13 is old enough. Also if your friend is dark headed most girls have to start shaving earlier than fair haired girls. I know I am the mother of a dark headed daughter. She started shaving at a young age. When you have dark hair the hair just shows so much worse. If it bothers your friend than she should tell her mother how it makes her feel and hope for the best. Tell her good luck.

Um, once you have to start changing for gym, you start shaving your legs. End of story.
Your friend REALLY needs to start if she's 13 and hasn't ever before. Good luck convincing her mom!!!

There's not an age, there's just a moment when u just don't feel conftable being all hairy, her mom has to understand that her daughter is becoming a young women and not being hairy it's part of the process.

it depends how dark and long the hair is .usually the age is about 11 years,though i started to shave in 5th grade,though im taller and i started blooming alot earlier than most people

there is no "right age" it depends on your developement, cause everyone developes differently. some girls may need to shave at 10 and others at 15. who knows?

well let her know if you start you cant stop but 13 is way old enough i was in high school at thirteen

i was in 4th grade but i am an early bloomer 13 and DD i grew up fast and i don't understand way partens don't let kids shave?

i think at about 11 most girls i knew were shaving their legs. if your friends mom is worried about your friend hurting herself she should try an electric razor until she gets used to shaving. you can't cut yourself with one, they're safe and your friend could use one until she gets a better grip on how to shave
