If I were you I would turn it into the Department of Natural Resources before you end up getting hurt. We have found several by our house and we caught them put them in pillowcases and turned them in so that they could be released or kept and used for educational purposes.

Honey, the best thing you can do is call the Animal Control or Dept of Natural Resources and turn it in. As the snake grows and gets older, it will produce larger amounts of venom. Next time he bites, you will not be so lucky. Wild caught snakes tend to be more stressed and prone to parasites and disease, and more difficult to tame.
Besides, in most states, it is illegal to house or own wild animals. There are strict penalties and fines for this.
For new owners that are inexperienced with snake, corn snakes, king snakes, or ball pythons are the best choice for pet snakes. These types of snakes tend to be gentle, and meeting their diet and environmental needs is not as difficult as for some other species.

Your rattle snake is a wild animal if he bit you perhaps he is not aware that you have the best intentions for him?
I think it is best to take him somewhere in the country FAR away from people and let the little rattler FREE to experince a rattle snakes life.

Are you kidding me. Don't do anything to it, just get ride of it!!!!! What the hell are you doing with a rattle snake to begin with? Don't hurt the animal just because you are stupid enough to own such a creature. It belongs in the desert NOT as your pet!!!!!!

Don't "do" anything to it. Continue to take care of it and be careful not to get bitten. If you don't want it anymore I agree with the above poster, donate it to a zoo.

go to the emergency room NOW have them give you the anti venom as the area you were bitten is probably infected and if not treated you will loose the apendage bitten.

ok.. when it bit you, did it bite and pull away or did it bite and lock on? if it locked on that means it is hungry, so feed it!
how old is your rattle snake? if it bit an pulled away that probably means he felt threatened by you or he got nervous.
