There are 2 people involved. Pandi has very good credit with equity, collateral, etc. Bob was friends with her for 5 years borrowing money all the way. Last April Pandi let Bob put $$ on her credit card in the sum of $5000.00 to get he and his family out of a jam. He has only paid back $300.00 of it. She is such a good kind person that she believes him when he says he'll pay her next week....for the last 8 months. Pandi took out a loan when she noticed her bill was up to approx $15,000.00. She just had thought she misspent some where along the way. She did not use her card for 2 months and then gets a statement today and ta-da! there were $500.00 more charges. She called who charged her and they traced it back to Bob! She went further back (to April) and $11,000 is Bob!
What can she do to get reimbursed? Can she be? Can she sue? (no, there was not a written contract for the first $5,000....only a verbal agreement) Pandi is so gullable....now what?

Put a firm HOLD on any more charges to that card! Tell the company that those charges are not yours and even if you don't want to get Bob into any more trouble that he has gotten himself into already - the law is the law and he has definitely abused you!

Make it stop. If you must get a lawyer that's going to cost you money in the long run so you can draft up your own letter DEMANDING he ceast and decist his actions and remind him that if he doesn't not start making payments of $__insert amount here___ per week/month you will take whatever actions are available to you by law to stop his illegal behavior and if this includes having him arrested then you will go to which ever limits he is making you go to.

Put down the stick and get that man to start doing the right thing. Perhaps its going to take some toughening up but I know you can't afford to allow this behavior to occur further it's gonna bankrupt you!!!

...........think about it and get writing...........

she should talk to the credit card company and tel ll them she never authorized the charges and the card company will have to deal with bob but Pandi does not have to pay back the money that bob stole on her card. Then she should sue hell out of bob and get a restraining order against him.

what "Bob " did was commit a crime against Pandi and the credit card company, and as such they are the ones to have charges brought upon Bob who should be in jail eating holiday dinner in the county hotel (jail).

1) tell her to call her creidt card company to contest those charges. The credict card company now must provide proof that she signed for those charges
2) tell her to call a lawyer to draft a demand letter to "bob" that she intends to sue him for fraud for any amount that the credit card company doesn't retract.
