Christ, Love, & Rememberance...

Christ- Because we celebrate the day our savior was born & crucified. Jesus Christ was born by virgin Mary & Joseph. Mary was told by an angel that she was going to have a child and was to name him 'Jesus'. This came as a shock to Mary, as well as Joseph. The two were told to travel to Bethlehem for the birth of the chosen one, and because Jesus was born a Jew, Jews are the 'chosen ones'. Remember, Jesus was born to be killed on the cross & relieve us of all our sins, for if he didn't do so, we'd all be unforgiven by the almighty God, and most likely wind up in hell by now, so we should be very thankful & happy in the fact that there was a man who'd actually put up with all that pain & torture just for us.

Love- Not only for Christ & God, but also for our families, friends && ourselves... the whole reason we give & get gifts is because we are celebrating love, & happiness & a spiritual time w/ our family, friends & most af all our Lord...

Remembranc- Remembering all that God, Jesus, & our friends & family did for us. We should be thankful for all of it, because I'm sure you have plenty of memories, & most of them, probably good ones, & looking back at all God did for us. All the blessing, gifts, kind words & everything else...

So, I hope I cleared that up for you, & that is what Christmas is all about... Merry Christmas & God Bless!!

Question: "What is the true meaning of Christmas?"

Answer: LOVE - that's the true meaning of Christmas. John 3:16-17 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved."

Philippians chapter 2, verses 6-11, as paraphrased in The Message, records, "Jesus had equal status with God but didn't think so much of Himself that He had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, He set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, He stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn't claim special privileges. Instead, He lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death - and the worst kind of death at that: a crucifixion. Because of that obedience, God lifted Him high and honored Him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth - even those long ago dead and buried - will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that He is the Master of all, to the glorious honor of God the Father."

The true meaning of Christmas is God's becoming a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ. Why did God do such a thing? Because He loves us! Why was Christmas necessary? Because we needed a Savior! Why does God love us so much? Because He is love (1 John 4:8)! Why do we celebrate Christmas each year? Out of gratitude for what God did for us, we remember His birth by giving each other gifts, worshipping Him, and being especially conscious of the poor and less fortunate.

The true meaning of Christmas is LOVE. God loved us so much that He wanted to provide a way for us to spend eternity with Him. He gave His only Son to take our punishment for our sins, He paid the price in full! We are free from condemnation when we accept that free gift of LOVE. "But God demonstrated His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). Merry christams!!!

Christmas is....well Christmas is made of two parts Christ which means Jesus or Christ as in our savior, and Mass which means to celebrate. Christmas- i beleives of Christians- is when Jesus was born. The reason we give gifts is because Jesus helped people and when Jesus was born people brought gifts to him so it was a giving time and that has been carried on. If u have anymore questions just email me- iluv2dnc13@yahoo.com- hope this answered ur question and like i said just email me if u need.

the true meaning of why we have Christmas is because it is the day Jesus Christ was born. Christmas is definetly not about getting excatly what you want and opening all of your presents.
i hope everybody out there knows and celebrates the true meaning of Christmas instead of just opening presents.

The true meaning of Christmas is about when our Savior Jesus Christ was born, and when family, and friends learn to get along and we show how much we love each other!

Jesus was born on Christmas. He is the Christ and that is why the day is called Christmas. The day is a celebration of his birth. He is/was God who came as a human to save us from our sins and to make us right with God.

In my opinion Christmas isn't about the gifts either. It's about how Jesus was born and how he saved everybody's sins and helps us through everything no matter what it is!
