You could spend years in LV and not "do it all"
Shopping
Far and away the best are the, Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
Desert Passage at the Aladdin and The Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian are very nice.
The Fashion Show Mall
Bass Pro Shop - Silverton - free shuttle from the Forum Shops at Caesars/lower level valet - runs every 2 hours at 20 min after the even hour...
Free Shows
The Fountains of Bellagio
Fremont Street Experience
Volcano/White Tigers - Mirage
Sirens of TI - Buccaneer Bay - Treasure Island - This one is closed much of December so check for times
Lion Habitat - MGM
Animal Habitat - Flamingo
Sunset Stampede - Sam's Town - free shuttle from the strip
Christmas Show in The Sky - Rio - this one is very good
Inexpensive things to do
Stratosphere Tower
Eiffel Tower - Paris
Star Trek the Experience - LV Hilton
Madame Tussauds - Venetian
Shark Reef - Mandalay Bay
Inexpensive Shows
Mac King - Harrah's - $21.95
Dirk Arthur - Tropicana - $29 2-4-1 coupon in Today magazine
Larry Jones - Fitzgerald's - $22
Rick Thomas - Orleans - $27
Mystere is a great show at TI and the $69 tickets are a bargain
Another "cheap" fun thing to do is to ride the "Deuce" up and down the strip from MGM to the Stratosphere, just after dark! A 24 hour pass is only $5...Go to the upper level of the bus and grab the front seats, it's quite a sight..
A few of the Hotels are an amazing sight just to walk around them
Caesars Palace
Luxor
Venetian
Bellagio
Paris
NY NY
MGM
Wynn
If you go downtown and like antiques check out Main Street Station-pick up one of their guides to all of the antiques-Which include part of the Berlin Wall and and my favorite the Bronze doors and Facade from the Royal Bank of Kuwait..

I used to be a tour guide during my university days.
Gamble (that's what makes the world of Las Vegas go around). Go to downtown casinos or less glitzy Strip hotels if you play table games like blackjack and don't want to play $15 or more per hand. During the peak casino hours, which is 9pm to 3am, the 5-star hotels won't have tables less than $25 minimum. Interestingly enough, they do have penny and 5 cents slots.
Other than gambling, you should definitely visit The Strip. Don't miss the "free" attractions such as the volcano outside Mirage Hotel, the white tigers inside Mirage, The Sirens show outside Treasure Island, the water foundtain outside Bellagio, the fire-breathing dragon outside Excalibur, the lions (alternating the male, females, and cubs) in MGM Grand.
For the paid shows, a lot to choose from so pick up a free guide book or 2 at the airport. If you want to see one of the many Cirque du Soleil shows, see "O" at Bellagio - travelling with your mom you won't want to see Zumanity, which is very sensual.
You can also go visit Hoover Dam (a construction wonder in its time), Lake Mead, or take a ground or air tour of the Grand Canyon.
I think this is more than enough to fill a weekend for you.

Well - if you are 21 or over - and you gamble - and you have a lot of money - that will be the obvious thing to do.
Go to the Bellagio and see the water/light show. Also - this time of year - their Christmas decorations in the lobby are very pretty!!!
Take in a show. The Cirque de Soliel shows are great!
There are a LOT of roller coasters there now. Ride em! If you're younger - there's even an indoor amusement park at Circus Circus.
Go and shop at Ceasars Palace! It's like a very cool mall!
Go to the Venetian and ride in the Gandalla's. The Venetian also has a very nice coffee shop.
Have fun!!

You could go to see the Hoover Dam, it is only about 30/40 miles away. They are in the process of new Construction, but I still thought it was a sight to see. There is also Lake Mead, I didn't enjoy as much, but you might. In Las Vegas try, Adventure Dome, I might be wrong about the name of the place, but we took my six Grand kids, ages 18 to 12. It was a place that had rides and all kinds of thing for kids to do.

Get a job. Sooner or later, you are going to want to gamble and loose your money. A job will help you replace your money. It would help if you had show girl experience.
