You're going to need two types of education. First you need a journalism education on the university level. Second you need a culinary education in japanese food. You should have at least worked a job in a japanese restaurant, so you could write like an expert on japanese food. More important, nevertheless, is writing talent. If you want to write for the big newspapers and magazine, you're going to need talent. If not, you should have a basic understand of writing interesting articles, and have an indepth knowlege of japanese food.
